The Alpha Sigma chapter of Delta Sigma Phi has
dedicated itself to pursuing enjoyable and beneficial events for local and
campus relations. Delta Sigma Phi's Public Relations Committee organizes
participation in the Washington, D.C. “Walk for the Homeless” every Fall, and
organizes participation in University of Maryland's Maryland Day as volunteers,
and the Jewish Social Action Committee's “Snack Pack Attack” each Spring
semester. Delta Sigma Phi maintains a positive working relationship with the
city council and officials of the city of College Park, and has sought to
expand campus and National relations through publicity efforts and program
development designed to reach out to various consituents of our communities.
Additionally, diversity has always been an
important part of Delta Sigma Phi’s programming efforts. While chapter
membership remains consistently diverse, the chapter has become increasingly
involved in diversity awareness and the promotion of tolerance by sponsoring
guest speakers and discussion forums. Diversity has become a top priority of
the members of Delta Sigma Phi, and will continue to be one in the future.
As members of Delta Sigma Phi, we pledge
ourselves to the constant pursuit of the intellectual, social, and service
lives of our members. Through the implementation of membership development
aspects such as leadership activities, social interaction, and the development
of positive communication among members and our various communities, the
members of Delta Sigma Phi are committed to the fraternity’s motto: live,
learn, grow.
